Your preview vs. your keepsake
An honest explanation of what a digital concept can show you, and where the physical object differs.

Not a real comparison photograph — see “We don’t have real comparison photos yet”, below.
The preview is a concept, not a proof
The image you approve during Create Yours is a stylised, AI-generated concept — a drawing of what we intend to make, not a photograph of the finished object. It's built to give you a clear, honest sense of the pose, the likeness and the style you've chosen, but it is rendered in two dimensions with lighting and shading a physical print can't fully reproduce.
What can honestly look different
Turning a photo into a physical figurine means simplifying some things so the piece can actually be printed and survive being handled. Each style we offer says this plainly rather than hiding it:
- True to life: Fine detail — thin jewellery, loose hair, small patterns — gets simplified so it survives being made.
- Stylised mini: Reads as a keepsake rather than a replica. Likeness stays; literal accuracy does not.
- Soft caricature: Deliberately not a portrait. Best for someone with a good sense of humour about themselves.
- Keepsake classic: Less colour information, so clothing and hair read as form rather than detail.
Beyond style-specific trade-offs, colour can shift slightly between a backlit screen and a printed, hand-finished surface, and very fine detail — thin jewellery, individual strands of hair, small text — tends to simplify once it becomes a physical shape rather than a flat image.
What we don't compromise on
The likeness, the pose you chose, and the overall style stay true to what you approved. If the finished piece doesn't reasonably match your approved preview, that's a quality issue we'll put right — see our refunds & remake policy.
We don't have real comparison photos yet
We haven't shipped our first customer orders, so we don't yet have real photography of a preview next to its finished print — and we'd rather tell you that plainly than show you a fabricated or staged comparison. Once real orders have shipped, we'll publish genuine side-by-side photography here. In the meantime, see Reviews for where that evidence will appear as it becomes available.
See it before you commit
You always see and approve your concept before anything physical is made.
